Hakuna Matata has a unique swimming pool, for guests only.
Archidona's hallmark is its tall hardwood palm tree, called 'chonta', so the pool has been designed as a 'chonta', but one that's 88 feet long and 72 feet wide!
Warm spring water (at a temperature of about 77° F, or 25° C) flows into the pool night and day.
With a depth ranging from 1 to 7 feet the pool is great for swimming, diving or just splashing around.
Around the pool, there are deck chairs and off to one side there is a special spot for relaxing, with hammocks and a massage bench.
From the pool, there is a spectacular view of the Llanganati mountains.
Ideal for 'dolce far niente' after a long trip or before you take off for yet another hike!

In the middle of the beautiful flora and fauna on our property, you can go for a walk - with or without a guide - and ride a horse. All activities are adapted to the interests and possibilities of our guests.

In the immediate proximity of your cabaña and the beach, you will find Precolumbian petroglives. Age-old tools and potsherds are regularly found on our property.

Coming from Quito/Baeza/Archidona: Follow the "Vía a Tena" for 1.3 km (after you leave Archidona) until the PS gas station. Turn right immediately after the bridge over the Misahualli River. Follow the signs for 3.9 km (Vía Chaupi Shungo).
Coming from Riobamba/Ambato/Baños/Puyo/Tena: Follow the "Vía a Archidona" for 7 km (after you leave Tena). Turn left immediately before the bridge over the Misahyalli River. Follow the signs for about 3.9 km (Vía Chaupi Shungo).
With public transportation:
Several buses leave Quito daily for Tena. Get off in Archidona (before Tena!). The trip takes approximately 5 hours, so choose a bus that leaves in the morning. In Archidona you should take a taxi that brings you for 5 USD in 15 minutes to Hakuna Matata.
Several buses leave Riobamba/Ambato/Baños daily for Tena. The trip takes approximately 4 hours from Baños, so choose a bus that leaves in the morning. In Tena you should take a taxi that brings you for 8 USD in 30 minutes to Hakuna Matata.
